We have a new education policy enabling more and more people to study with flexibility of what they want to learn. It appears a wonderful effort. However, if we see around, we find lots of dissatisfaction on the ground. This calls for a relook at our policy.
Instead of just training people with more and more IIMs, IITs, Medical Colleges let us make an estimate of ‘how may engineers, doctors etc.’ we will need in say coming ten years including how many can be self-employed and how many can find jobs abroad. And now we train our people accordingly. So, as they complete their training, there is a suitable job for them and there is no unrest in people at various levels – study/training and jobs.
In the present scenario, people study against all the odds and later realise that it has been just like postponing their discontent. We are, in fact, training people and creating a spiral of unemployment unrest.
