Rajeev Gandhi’s Navodaya Vidyalaya Programme, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and World Bank’s India Population Project to name a few
    • Has been responsible for formulating and leading the Industrialized Building System for Affordable Quality Housing Project – a mega project sponsored by Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India. It has been a inter-institutional project pursued with Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC), Chennai; School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi with CBRI as nodal agency
    • Has been responsible for initiating the development of Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL), CSIR Network Project, a Planning Commission, Govt. of India sponsored program
    • Has been instrumental in the formulation of guidelines, code and bye-laws for various cities of the country, All India Flat Glass Manufacturers’ Association (AIFGMA), sponsored project
    • Authored fifty plus research papers, project reports, books including   ’Guidelines for Use of Glass in Buildings’.

Employment History

1971 – 2006 Worked with CBRI, a premier research laboratory of CSIR and achieved the highest position, ‘Director Grade Scientist’ – it has been a great experience of team building and institution building.

2006 – 2007 Worked as Prof. and Dean, Faculty of Architecture, MIT, Manipal University and focused on initiating new PG and Ph. D programs – it has been an experience at one of the oldest privately funded University in India.

2007 – 2009 Worked as Director, PiCA, University of Mumbai – it has been an experience in a large Affiliating University System. 

2010 – 2012 Worked as Director, Manipal School of Architecture and Planning, Manipal University – it has been an experience of institution building at one of the largest model of privately funded multi-disciplinary University in India with flourishing International Linkages. 

2012 – 2017 Relocated to Jaipur to facilitate establishment of a New University at Jaipur – an experience of making a new institution.

2018 – onward Consulting on research and academics.

Recognition and Awards

  • Mother Teresa Excellence Award for Meritorious Accomplishments in Diverse Fields of Activities that immensely contributed for the National Progress conferred by Sh. Subash Maharia, Minister of State for Rural Development, Government of India, August 2001.
  • IBC Medal awarded for best paper on Up-gradation of Housing & Amenities in Rural Areas, Indian Building Congress, Bhubaneshwar, December 22-23, 2004
  • International Scientific Co-operation Fellowship Awarded by Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India and funded by the Commission of European Communities (CEC) in U. K. for Post-Doctoral research, Oct. 91 to March 92.
